Snakes Alive

The school I'm doing my work experience at is undergoing a few renovations, so the art room now has a nice little courtyard area outside it. Candy was thinking of making some sort of garden sculpture with the kids, and we came up with the idea of making a huge rainbow serpent that could function as a bench, decorated with mosaic. I did a sketch of my idea:

And then we got the kids to come up with their own ideas and make models of them:
Sequined snake
Winged Snake
Frill-Necked Snake
Pretty Rainbow Flying Ballerina Snake

Mummified Zombie Snake

Snake on Stilts

They seem pretty excited about the project, and so am I. I start uni tomorrow, though, so I'm not sure whether I'll be able to come in and help out in the next few weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to make time for both...

Cool idea! Just make sure there are no sharp edges for little bottoms to sit on!
